Gingerbread Man Hunt

I have wanted to do a treasure hunt with Ju for ages, and putting it on our activity countdown garland meant that it would have to be done this month. I just couldn't wait for it! Luckily, this morning I came across this gingerbread man treasure hunt by Playdough to Plato.

After the buzz of activities of the last few days, I loved the fact that all I had to do was print and cut out the clue cards and place them around the house. We already had leftover gingerbread men from when we did our Gingerbread House on Day 3 - see earlier blog entry.

Ju has had a recent fascination with the story of the Gingerbread Man and it is one of his bedtime story favourites, so no doubt this is what we will be reading again tonight. The story (in French) was also featured in his last copy of Toupie, the French kids monthly magazine which he has a subscription to.

I hid the clues around the house and Ju started on his treasure hunt, delighted whenever finding the next clue. He got pretty excited when he finally found the gingerbread men and shared them with Lilo. "The gingerbread man was fast, but I was even faster", were his last words before the gingerbread man went in his mouth.
Run! Run! As fast as you can! You can't catch me! I'm the Gingerbread Man!

  1. Wow! What a fun indoor activity. I think my son would like hunting for him too.

I am going to feature this post on the Read.Explore.Learn. Facebook page today.
